The galle face road across the hotel used to be a bustling street when i came here 7 years back, but now its been cordoned by the army for security reasons, the Indian high commission is to the left of the street and the President's house is a few blocks away to the right of the street. But incase u r a guest with Taj samudra or Hilton, the soldiers would allow to take pictures or even use the jogging track, so its not an issue at all. Last time when i came here we used to make fun of the lousy commondoes who were not so good at their job, but like we all learn after repeated mistakes, the lankan army has come a long way and i for sure m impressed with them this time around. I hope before the independence day coming up, they manage to wipe out the LTTE once and for all....And before i forget to mention, everything has changed here, but not the girls...they are still damn sexy and friendly as ever....:D

Every time i see the tri-color waving sky high, my heart rejoices, my pride inflats ten folds than ever, Today while i was watching the President hoisting the tri-color on television, i was standing head high inside my room. I also saw a few of my ex-colleagues winning the ultimate bravery awards posthumously for the supreme sacrifice for the society and the country. I was watching another function in recognition to their sacrifices, where Salaskar's daughter said she feels an immense gap in her heart and misses her dad like hell, Mr.Unnikrishnan, father of Late Major Sandip Unnikrishnan said he loves Indian army more than ever after his son's death, reminds me of my father who always used to tell me that when someday u die for the country i'll proudly go and collect ur ashes....I had tears in my eyes while watching that, a mixture of pride, sorrow and hollowness maybe. Anyway its not the time for all that, its time to rejoice on the 60th republican day, so now i'll share our national anthem and i'll stand up, sing it loudly and type it....

Yesterday i had an awfull day at work, by the time i wound up i was with terrible headache. Then i got a text from a lovely friend, after a few msgs we decided to catch up, since i was so fucked up, really wanted to loosen up before hitting the sack...Btw this time i reached dot on time, not a minute here and there...:P, the moment i got out of the car i cud see the prettygirl, pretty as ever waiting...:), we went to Fish&Co. had some drinks and food and chit chatted for hours...:) Then as usual before leaving we got back to our usual favourite place starbucks, where the prettygirl got me a nice cake with hot black coffee, the ambience was just PERFECT and we both smiled and laughed a lot over various things...:), then i dropped her back to her place and we parted with a warm hug(was the perfect icing on the cake sort of). Aaah this time she didn't argue with me over the transportation..:P hahahaha...

If u remember a few months back i wrote a post on the devastating martial art from indonesia Pencak Silat. As i mentioned during that time that unlike other martial arts Pencak silat is not taught very generously by the masters, they pass on the knowledge only if they are impressed with the student and ofcourse some very close recommendation as well.

When i went there last december my friend did her best to recommend me and finally the master has agreed, so now i m pushing for a ten days leave and once its sanctioned i will go to east java soon. In the meantime i gotta start the spiritual training called Kebatinin or Limu. Its very important to do this in order to prepare mentally and physically for the violence and the consequences of the combat. Each master has his own ways of amulets and prayers and he chooses to pass on the mystic amulet according to his student's character and ability. I was given the tooth of the tiger, which means after kebatinin when i actually perform the silat it should reflect the fighting attributes of a tiger that is tenacity, courage,mystery and daring ferocity. Since last one week i m doing my best and training seriously every morning, infact i have lost about 10 kgs so far and by the time i go there i intend to get more leaner and stronger...

There is an old saying among Silat people that goes, "You do not choose Silat, Silat chooses you!" By the nature of the difficult work necessary to master the art, the art itself selects its worthy initiates and ultimately transforms them.

Its been too long now, have been fighting to ignore certain things of my past and i discovered that in process of doing so i lost a lot of my basic things. I mean how long is it fair to get fooled and keep paying dearly for it...So now its enough, i care a shit, i dont even want to ignore it anymore, i want it to come to my face every moment and every moment i wanna defeat it face on. I mean people involved at the other hand have all conveniently moved on so why the hell should i standstill holding my dick like a fool! So here on hell with everyone who took me for granted.

To avoid drinking now a days i read a lot, in the last one month i finished 5 books, 2 of which i loved very much and m sharing it with u all here....


A Thousand Splendid Suns-Khaled Hosseini. I completed this book in just 2 days, such fast and interesting it was. The author has used two different girls to narrate the story. The backdrop of the story is afghanistan before the russian invasion and then taliban ruled days. It narrates how a female still faces humiliation in every aspects of life even in this so called modern world.






Train to Pakistan-Khushwant Singh. I loved this book, not for the political reason involved with the partition which happened in 1947, The author has used some common people as his characters and narrated the chaos that happened during that time. It sort of brought back the memories of the stories my grandpa used to tell us when we were very small, how during that time he had to leave his job in Lahore and come back to his hometown...

Btw now my next book is The Kite runner by Khaled Hosseini.

Read those words on a billboard yesterday and immediately struck me that its hightime for me as well to get revived....hmmmmmmmm

Its a brand new year again...Happy new year folks :)

Looking back at 2008, what a hellacious year it had been...experienced the ultimate roller-coaster of a life but none the less it was a good experience and i ain't complaining abt it no more. I hope all of u had a very good new year's eve...mine was supposed to be one freaking boring one, but like i said God somehow likes to give me a ride. It happened so that i finished my work earlier than i expected so there was no point in staying back in the hotel and sulk so i rather decided to get back to singapore no matter what...since it was a last minute decision, didnt get a direct flight and had to take a transit from KL. During my flight from KL to singapore, i met this american girl my co-passenger who was also on a transit to singapore and further to Tokyo&New york. Since she didnt hv much idea abt singapore, she asked me if i cud help her ard, so anyway once at singapore i helped her get her boarding pass without having her go thru immigration in and out, then while bidding good bye she asked me whether i was free enough to hv some coffee with her and then leave...i said fine, pleasure! While having coffee i cud feel her sulking, afterall it sux when u r alone and actually hv to spend the eve in transit and flying...so i just told her that someone else was also in the same boat so try and not sulk and hv fun in whatever's offered for the moment...

Anyway eventually we also ended up having dinner together and while leaving she gave a nice friendly hug and thanked me for salvaging her eve in whatever way it happened....Then i just came baak home and was definitely sulking big time coz this is not me...for someone who has lived most of the life being the centre of attraction its very hard to digest the loneliness in abundance...anyway tiredness was good enough to put me to sleep....Woke up fresh next day, had my routines, did my laundry, cooked my lunch and then spent most of the day sleeping, then in the evening generally i was reading a book...YES, dont make fun of me NOW A DAYS I READ A LOT to avoid drinking , got a msg from the only friend i got in this city...:) After a few text msgs we decided to meet up later in the evening, same place like before...:) . Fortunately i reached early this time without having her to wait for me...and there she was...looking pretty as she is, then we just walked ard the terminal to choose the couisine and finally we decided to unwind at an Italian restaurant. The food was great, so was the company...:)after the dinner we went down to the place where we first met and had some coffee...we talked abt lot of things and all of a sudden realised that it was already 11 in the night. So we finally decided to wind up and move on...while leaving the prettygirl decided to argue on the mode of transport and lost the arguement as usual...:P, finally i dropped her back home and moved on...
All in all was a great start to the new year...:) I wish her all the best for the year ahead and wish all of u the same :)
