Last Sunday while I was returning from Jakarta, during the transit I was reading the local newspaper the Jakarta post and I was shocked to read one article written by Lynda Ibrahim. It was about how cheap decorated food is available in the market for the middle-class and the poor ppl there. The shocking part was the source of such food. There r a chain of people who collecte uneaten or undisturbed kitchen garbage from the 5-star hotels and big restaurants, wash it again, taint it with some curry here and there and pack it and sell it in the market at cheap prices and the buyers r mostly the woman who usually dream to put variety of dishes on the table but usually cant due to scorching prices in Indonesia….She wrote she couldn’t eat her dinner while writing the article, I couldn’t have my breakfast reading the article…reminds me the same sort of chain operating in India as well…Both these countries are so rich with natural resources and man-power, yet the growth is not uniform…Those who hv money hv loads, those who don’t r completely dirt poor as they like to put it!

Makes me unwantedly appreciate the socialism in china. Like it or not the concept is much better than the capitalism and stupid wayward growth. I mean take for example China, the authorities know, ppl don’t trust them so somehow to keep that socialism going they need to do things to keep the public quite, and when the public sees such occasional benefits they r also happy with the fact that okay fine these guys r ot trustworthy but still better than the so called capitalists who may dump u anyways without any prior notice….

Coming back to the issue, wish someday we could get those guys running these countries and dump these kinda food inside their throats….

this is terrible...! it reminds me of ppl warning me not to try the coconut slices sold at road crossings because they are sourced from the cremation grounds...coconuts used as part of the last rites (puja)!!! (i dunno how true that is) and not drink the cold water sold (like u have the ice cream vendors) coz they use the ice from the morgue?! (unbelievable)...even these are untrue, I can't get myself to buy either once I've heard such things :(

Actually most of it is true. And the one i mentioned above, the writer herself investigated it thoroughly
