Grand master Nengah Sukama preparing for display of silat in Bali.

Yes i m talking abt Pentjak Silat, one of the most interesting and deadly martial arts from the archipalego. There r no specific steps and discipline in this art, i mean every region has its own speciality and is very closely guarded martial art. Unlike other forms of martial arts, the guru doesnt passes the knowledge to anybody just like that. Out of all the regions i like the one in east java. I have already expressed my desire to one of my colleague in Jakarta to take me there and introduce me to the guru, as its very important to be introduced by someone the guru knows and trusts, but still his agreement wud depend on his frame of mind then. If he agrees then i will use my remaining leaves in the end of the year and learn this art.

@Keshi
The routine practice of that art makes u fit and then gradually u just keep mastering the entire form...If you see those indonesians especially from the mountains they r very very tough, coz every one out of five practice this either in the form of martial arts or folk dance...

At the risk of appearing ignorant, I will say that I did not even know what that is until I read the post!

Good luck!

@Solitaire
I dont see any risk of appearing ignorant coz noone's supposed to know everything on the earth, we all find out new things everynow and then.
Thanks anyway...
